About me

Learning to code was a hobby for me at first, but after a few online classes, my hobby began picking up momentum and I try to find ways to incorporate it in to my day to day work! I enrolled in KU's coding bootcamp as a way to challenge myself, with ambitions to become a full-stack developer. I've worked on projects that make use of frameworks like handlebars and bootstrap, but what I love to work on is mostly back end development.

Back End developer

My background in development stems from my training at the University of Kansas' coding bootcamp, a 6 month program focusing in full stack development. While I am proficient in both front and back end development, back end is what I like to focus on.

Portfolio

Over the last six months I've worked hard to build a solid foundation in web development. Learning to program by myself was one thing, but I also spent a great deal of time learning to program with others, and master the ins and outs of trying not to work over eachother in github!

TrackMeet

TrackMeet's initial goal was to come up with an alternative tool for scheduling studyrooms and meeting rooms at our local library. The system that the library had in place was rigid, and very limited in what it could do. We set out with the goal of coming up with a better system that would allow our users to have better search capabilities, be able to add and remove reservations, and recieve text reminders about their reservation.

STEMM

STEMM was my first group project, made in conjunction with Shannon Burke, Sam Tricamo, and Phil Rivadeneira. My section of the project focused on the main functionality of the app, which consisted of prompting the user to take short quiz and then hitting the wikipedia API to return the article of a plant that we reccomended.

Book Share

This was my second group project, a lending app that lets the user track what books they've loaned out, and for how long the borrower has had it. Originally the app included google authentication, but to make it easier to maintain and display, we've decided to remove that feature. My section of the project revolved around a lot of the back end routing, data manipulation, and the email portion of the app.

Bar Trivia

This is a simple bar trivia game that I made, it times the user, and after the time elapses, or the user hits submit, it grades the user's answers!
